On 7 July #HelpBucha team visited the towns of Irpin and Hostomel and provided financial support to 15 more families. Today, 131 families in Kyiv region have received aid. All of the people suffered greatly but here are some stories that stroke us the most:

Valentyna is demonstrating the result of the russian missile attacking her house, on Proskurivska street, in Hostomel. It used to be her kitchen. “I have neither a house, nor tears to wipe”, – bitterly notices Valentyna.

A story of seniors who lived right next to the occupies in Hostomel

When the war came close, Maria and her husband did not leave their house, as a result, they were captured by russians. They were held captive in the basement together with two dogs while the russians enjoyed living in their house. This turned out to be pretty challenging both for their physical and mental health. The russians left many “surprises”: the house along with the summer pavilion were totally ruined and the garden was mined.

The couple demined their property on their own and planted their garden to have food. The question of housing remains acute though.

To lose everything at 71

A 71-year-old Nina who had planned to live happily her senior years, lost everything. Her house was ruined completely as a result of the missile strikes, while her granddaughter happened to be under the rubble. Luckily, the girl survived and is now in the hospital. Nina herself is now living in a trailer.

It is crucial for all of us to support and help each other. Only together we will prevail.
