Residents of Gostomel, Bucha and the village of Ozera received financial aid

#HelpBucha project team provided financial assistance to 18 more residents of the towns of Hostomel, Bucha, Ozera village. Thus, 86 families have already received help from the Charity Foundation of Ihor Shevchenko “Successful Ukraine.”

Below are the stories which turned out to be the most striking for our team during that trip:

“A PERSON WHO WENT THROUGH KADYROV GROUPS’ TORTURES”

A resident of Hostomel, Olexandr Zakurdayev is still living in a dark basement of a burnt house. He went through the occupation when every day felt like the last one for him.

“My doors were knocked out. Four armed bearded kadyrov’s guys broke into my apartment. I was interrogated, tortured, blamed in being an aimer. But what kind of an aimer can I be? Look at the thickness of my glasses (he is demonstrating the glasses which goes beyond the frame). One day they made me got on the knees with my hands behind the head and facing the wall. They threw a grenade under my feet. I managed to relocate behind the wall. The grenade did not explode. It turned out to be a training one but I had no idea…Imagine what I went through…My friends tell me my hair has all turned gray…”, – tells Olexandr.

“ARAMIS THE CAT – THE SYMBOL OF RESILIENCE”

A cat who lived with the orcs and stole their food – for almost two months he was wandering around the deserted house.

The cat Ara, tenderly called this way by his owner, is a Scottish fold, had to be left behind. The orcs did not allow his owners to enter the apartment to get the cat. But the cat made it without his owners although lost lots of weight.

Now, well-fed and taken care of, he is enjoying the sun on his windowsill.
