#HelpBucha. Results of six-month work

At the end of April we launched a project #HelpBucha aimed at helping the families from Kyiv region who have suffered the most in the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. Residents of Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, Horenka, Moshchun, and Ozera have been through a lot: the terrors of the fighting, occupation and loss of home.

When we first started the project we knew little of the horrors and loss the residents have suffered. However, we were left amazed by the courage and persistence of our fellow Ukrainians.

Despite the war, lost accommodation, and destroyed lives, they do not give up and do their best to return to their normal lives. Gradually, they are restoring their houses, getting together with the neighbours to share the weight and keep moving on.

And there are hundreds of stories like this! At the end of October, we marked the count of 310 families who our project #HelpBucha has provided help to. The process is ongoing and we are continuing to receive new calls for help. Thanks to the cooperation with our local coordinators we keep in touch with the residents of the community and are immediately informed of their needs.

We are grateful to our partners, especially Ms.Pascal Veer and her charity fund “Little Hearts” for the support provided to the families affected by the war in Ukraine.

We would like to say a special thank you to Ivan Boiko, our representative in the village of Ozera, Larysa Lishchynska in the village of Horenka, and Vitalii Kashchenko in the village of Moshchun. You are truly a team of professionals who care a lot for the future of your fellow Ukrainians and the future of your local communities. Thank you! Together we are making this world a better place.

Communicating with the locals, we’ve come to realise that immediate help is of utter importance in the communities most affected by the war. We can’t help the deceased but we can help those who live! THOSE WHO NEED OUR HELP THE MOST.
