Another 18 families from Bucha, Moshchun and Hostomel have already received help

On June 1 the team of the #HelpBucha project met with the residents of Hostomel, Bucha and Moschun towns whose houses greatly suffered during fighting. 18 more families received financial support of the “Successful Ukraine” Charity Foundation.

Moschun village is one of the most damaged ones in Kyiv region. 164 houses there have been completely destroyed and cannot be restored. The project team was delighted to have a meeting with Mr. Petro Makushenko, head of the village, and learn of his willingness to join the project to help us verify applications for financial support in his village.

A large number of families in Moschun have lost their homes. One of them is the family of Tetyana Marhonos whose house was destroyed twice: 80 years ago in WWII by fascists and now by rashists. The house is in ruins. Today Tetyana lives in the barn (photo below) next to those ruins – with no water, gas or electricity.

Valentyna Petrivna (on the photo below) lives in Hostomel. She was the one who managed to demine her garden herself carefully looking under her feet and saying a prayer to Virgin Mary to be able to plant the garden later.  HelpBucha team calls on everyone to never do this themselves.
